High-quality poly furniture is typically made from HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene)—a dense, durable plastic engineered to withstand decades of sun, rain, and temperature swings without cracking, fading, or becoming brittle. Some lower-cost manufacturers, however, use cheaper plastics such as HIPS (High-Impact Polystyrene), PVC blends, or other mixed recycled plastics that may look similar at first but lack the long-term durability of true HDPE.
